Editing and navigation

Context menus

Use right-click commands in the preview, timeline and lists without losing the current position.

Where context menus help

Right-click the relevant editor area to expose commands that apply to that object or position. Context menus are shortcuts to the same project operations available from the main menus; they do not create a separate edit state.

Common uses

  • Navigate to cut or selection boundaries from the timeline or cut list.
  • Add or remove a chapter mark at the current frame.
  • Capture the displayed frame or inspect program information.
  • Operate on selected Joiner, Batch or profile rows in their respective dialogs.

Keyboard alternative

Every frequently used editing command also has a menu item, button or configurable shortcut. Open Help > Keyboard Shortcuts when a context action is inconvenient or unavailable to assistive technology.
