Windows Explorer context menu
Open Tools > Options > File Types and use Show Open with SmartCut64 in the Explorer context menu. Turn it off to remove this installation's menu entry while retaining your per-extension selections. Turn it back on to restore the entry for those types.
The preference is retained across upgrades. Entries owned by another SmartCut64 installation are preserved. An unregistered portable copy remains unregistered when you save unrelated options.
Common containers
SmartCut64 workflows cover Matroska MKV, MP4/M4V, MOV, MPEG program streams including MPG/MPEG/VOB, MPEG transport streams including TS/M2TS/MTS, and tested WTV, DVR-MS, Topfield-style REC and MXF remux delivery.
Elementary streams
Supported elementary outputs include applicable MPEG-2 video, H.264, HEVC, AV1/IVF and audio forms such as AAC, AC-3/E-AC-3, MPEG audio, Opus, FLAC, WAV/PCM, DTS and TrueHD. Exact availability depends on the selected codec, operation and profile.
Extension is not capability
A container can hold several codecs and metadata systems. Consult the detailed Format Support page and the Save dialog's compatibility explanation for the exact stream combination. Unsupported CRID-specific files and DVD authoring structures are not claimed.
