Quick start: remove one section

The shortest path from opening a source to a validated frame-accurate output.

SmartCut64 demonstration marking an exact cut
Mark In and Mark Out identify the half-open frame range before it is added to the cut list.

Create the edit

  1. Open the source with Ctrl+O.
  2. Navigate to the first frame to remove and press F3 (Mark In).
  3. Navigate to the first frame that should remain after the removed section and press F4 (Mark Out).
  4. Press Delete or choose Cut Selection. The selected span turns red and appears in the cut list.
  5. Press P and play across the edit to preview only kept material.

Save safely

  1. Press Ctrl+S or choose Save Video.
  2. Choose a destination different from the source.
  3. For a same-codec cut, select a Match Source profile in Intelligent mode.
  4. Wait for boundary encoding, packet copy and validation to finish. A destination is final only after successful validation.

Frame convention

Selections are half-open: Mark In is included in the selected range; Mark Out is the first frame after it. This prevents duplicate or missing pictures when ranges meet.
